Inspired by.. Pedro Gonçalves

"Inspired by..." is a series of posts that I'll write about from time to time. It will consist on talking about someone that inspires me or that I truly admire. Hope you like it!

Maybe you don't know who this guy is, but let me introduce you: Pedro Gonçalves is a portuguese artist, singer-songwriter, youtuber and one of the nicest people I've ever met! I had the pleasure of meeting him back in December 2014 and until this day, there hasn't been a single time that I've seen him without a smile on his face!

Pedro Gonçalves

He started by doing covers for YouTube and yes, there's a lot of people doing covers but he works those songs and makes them his own music and he sings those lyrics like he owns them and you can feel and understand each and every word he sings. One of his most recent videos was "Shape of you" and it honestly gave me goosebumps and I believed every word he sang!

I've followed him for over 2 years now and he is one of those people whose steps you proudly accompany and I've seen him grow and become better and better, until he was one of the final contestants of 'The Voice' 2015!

Eurovision Song Contest Portugal

Now, a year later, he was one of the finalists competing to represent Portugal in the Eurovision Song Contest 2017! And that night he tweeted apologizing for his performance because he thought that maybe he wasn't at his best but he assured us that he had put all his heart in that final performance
So, Pedro, from the moment you knew you left your heart on that stage, you gave your best! And even if it wasn't the best, remember what you achieved and what you learnt, retain it and use it for your future!

He went from singing in his room for YouTube to singing in a crowded theater, in Coliseu dos Recreios, one of the biggest and most famous theaters in Portugal! I'm truly and fully proud of him and everything he has achieved for the past few years and I'll keep supporting him and following him throughout his life!
Because of him, I believe that dreams do come true and if I fight for what I want, I'll achieve it! He fought some of the worst adversities that life can come up with and he stood up and kept fighting for his dream and I don't know if I should say it but, Pedro, I'm sure your mother, wherever she is, is super proud of the person and artist you became!
Thank you for the smiles, the pictures, the surprise on my 18th birthday (story for another time!) and for being such a genuine person!
